Austin Kaufmann grew up a few hours southwest of East Lansing, in northern Indiana. He studied at Goshen College, a small liberal arts school, where he majored in secondary English education and minored in ESL. He earned his MA in TESOL from American University in Washington, DC. Since he started teaching 13 years ago, Austin has taught English to non-native speakers in public high schools in both the U.S. and in Kyrgyzstan (with the Peace Corps), at a private institute in Washington, DC, and in university programs in both Washington, DC, and - more recently - in Seoul, South Korea. He has also taught in TESOL teacher-training programs both domestically and abroad. Austin’s professional interests include teaching pronunciation and materials design.
