For anyone attending today’s workshop/bootcamp on Web Tools, we will be using data to explore Voyant. The data can be downloaded as a zip drive from the dropbox here.

THATCamp Languages is quickly approaching! Here is the spot to suggest and discuss topics for the camp. Toss out any ideas you have that might be interesting, thought-provoking, contentious, confusing or whatever. If you have several topics in mind, that’s totally fine – jot them down here! This is a wide-open arena – we are looking for ALL ideas for incorporating the technological into language learning, your research, community outreach or any other element of your engagement with language that you feel might be worth exploring further as a group.

To suggest a topic, just write it down below with a brief (1-3 sentence) explanation of the topic and why you’d like to discuss as a community. If you see a topic you’d be interested in, sign your name next to it here and add any questions, foci or tangents you’d like to work through. The conference is meant to be organic and tailored to all of our interests, so let’s get to work!

THATCamp Languages 2014 TopicHack

We’re happy to announce that the first ever THATCamp Languages will be held the weekend of September 6 & 7, 2014 in Wells Hall on the campus of Michigan State University.  Please save the date and tell your friends!  Check back in late spring for the call for proposals and hotel information.

THATCamp Languages 2014 is tentatively scheduled for Fall of 2014 at Michigan State University. THATCamp Languages is intended for those with teaching or research interests in technology for language pedagogy or the use of technology in research in foreign languages, literatures, and cultural studies.
